Cozy Up for Fall

This super comfy looking bed got me thinking: with fall here and winter close on its heels, its time to outfit the bedroom for darker mornings and rainy Sundays spent in bed. A monochromatic but textured look with earthy hues is perfect for fall. Plus, pillows and lamps lend a coziness that will help you forget about the bygone summer days. Put it all together, and you've got a perfect hideout for the colder weather. Personally, I would punch it up a tad with some vibrant fall shades to keep it cheerful. Ready to get cozy? These essentials will help get you going:

Velocity Home

Sharing some of my favorite items from Velocity Art and Design, an online store with tons of beautiful modern accents for your home. Among others they stock items by Roost, Pigeontoe, and Thomas Paul. Dying to get my hands on some!

Foxy

Don't you think there is something that is just sort of.....delightful......about foxes? I'm loving these artists' take on the animal.

Green Dreams

Green is my favorite color, and I'm totally craving some. On another, note, I decided to start eating more vegetables. Related?

Flowers

Usually I like to share my own flower photos, but life's been hectic lately, and while the house still has fresh flowers every week the camera hasn't made it out much. So today I'm sharing some beautiful arrangements from Amy Merrick. Enjoy!

Coyuchi Baby

Disclaimer: I do not have a baby. I am not pregnant. In fact, I'm not even married (yet--2.5 months to go!). But I've been thinking about babies and baby things since I had the biological ability to make them. So I suppose its not that surprising that I just bought the "George" baby bedding from Coyuchi, makers of organic linens. Not that surprising, but still crazy. The embroidered jungle animal babies were just more than I could resist--plus there was a flash sale for 50% off! I can't wait for the linens to arrive....and in the meantime I've been browsing Coyuchi's more grown-up organic cotton offerings, which are equally lovely.

Textile

I love these worldly home accents from Textile.  All are handmade by artisans in their respective places of origin. I'm thinking about heading to Chiapas, Bolivia and Turkey just so I can stock pile.

Wednesday Wishlist: Papa Bear & Pattern

I've never met a papa chair or a geometric pattern I didn't like. These are the things I would love to have (and wear) in a little home office. Slight obstacle: I have yet to find a papa chair for less than $2K--which makes this a BIG wish. Anyone know where I could find a cheap(er) repro?

PS. My header got a redesign, thanks to my fiance with the Adobe Illustrator skills!

Speechless

My first thought when I saw these was "holy f***." (Apparently good interior design has a strong effect on me.) I can't begin to tell you how captivated I am with these interiors by design group Commune--who also did the Ace Hotel Palm Springs. And since everything the Ace Hotels do is cool, you bet these guys are cool.

Global Dinner Party

Although I'd like our every day dinnerware to be white (we're still shopping around for it), I think it would be great to have just a few pieces with color for fun occasions. Right now I think these would be lovely--imagine an afternoon get together with ice tea and a summery salad, and your table is filled with this eclectic serveware. Wouldn't it be perfect? Clockwise from top left: tablecloth/ moroccan glasses/ salad bowl/ dinner plates/ serving utensils.

Update: 25-30% of all items on Horchow today only!

Modern Hides

No, they're not just for Texans anymore! Cowhides keep appearing as a decor theme in modern rooms. I think they give a bit of hominess to a look that could otherwise come off as cold. I personally love the look of animal hides, and have one of my own. Its positioned strategically half-under-half-out of my bed...unfortunately, the rest of my room isn't tidy enough to merit sharing a photo with you.
